We are living through strange times. War spreads across the world—often at a distance, yet never truly far from us. A sense of freedom persists, but one that feels increasingly mediated and controlled by the very devices that connect us. Social injustices are becoming normalized, and entire populations are displaced or erased in plain sight. It is hard not to recognize this as the theatre of the absurd of our present day. For us, as Portuguese, even the memory of this exact day—25 April, the Carnation Revolution—once a powerful symbol of liberation and collective awakening, is now slowly fading.
“Theatre of the Absurd” is the label’s debut EP, produced by Floating Machine and Inerte, two of its six founders. Conceived as a conceptual work, it explores the absurd as both an aesthetic and a sonic language. Positioned between hypnotic bass and half-time drum & bass, the EP constructs dense, cinematic atmospheres, where deep basslines and slowed rhythms carve out a dystopian, introspective universe.
Structured in acts, the EP unfolds as an immersive narrative in which meaning emerges through tension, repetition, and rhythmic deconstruction—reflecting the fractured logic of the times we live in.

Vivemos tempos estranhos. A guerra propaga-se pelo mundo—muitas vezes à distância, mas nunca verdadeiramente longe de nós. Persiste uma sensação de liberdade, cada vez mais mediada e controlada pelos próprios dispositivos que nos conectam. As injustiças sociais tornam-se progressivamente normalizadas, e populações inteiras são deslocadas ou apagadas a olhos vistos. É difícil não reconhecer nisto o teatro do absurdo dos nossos tempos. Para nós, portugueses, até a memória deste dia—25 de Abril, a Revolução dos Cravos — outrora um poderoso símbolo de liberdade e do despertar coletivo, lentamente se desvanece...
“Theatre of the Absurd” é o EP de estreia da editora, produzido por Floating Machine e Inerte, dois dos seus seis fundadores. Concebido como uma obra conceptual, explora o absurdo enquanto linguagem estética e sonora. Posicionado entre o hipnotic bass e o half-time drum&bass, o EP desenvolve-se em atmosferas densas e cinematográficas, onde linhas de baixo profundas e ritmos desacelerados esculpem um universo distópico e introspectivo.
Estruturado em atos, o EP desenvolve-se como uma narrativa imersiva, na qual o significado emerge através da tensão, da repetição e da desconstrução rítmica — espelhando a lógica fragmentada dos tempos em que vivemos.
