What happens when you tackle a puzzle four times, with different tools every time?
M3STR shows us the results effortlessly in this new body of work released by Spanish label Sungate. If the aim was to move, we are moved. If the aim was to surprise, colour us shocked.
From the get go, with the dubbed, airy yet hefty turn on the half-tempo undulations of “Stillness” and the perpetually suspended in mid-air with the swung-techno patterns of “Feathered” with bass coming in waves from below.
Things take a 4x4 impulse on “A Love Faded”, with sharp as a needle claps, and an exultant atmosphere , to finally leave us to the beat-broken, yet grippingly groovy “Shakey unit” a track with a title that hints to the masterful rhythmic play that can come of pangs of white noise.
The puzzle just needed its missing pieces, and M3STR found out quickly how they fit.

M3STR offers us the answer in this new work. If the aim was to touch us emotionally, it succeeded. If it was to surprise, it left us impressed.
We begin with "Stillness", a track with dub influences and an airy feel that oscillates in half-time, followed by the syncopated pattern of "Feathered", which remains suspended. In "A Love Faded" we find a direct 4x4 impulse, with precise claps and an atmosphere of euphoria. "Shakey Unit" closes with a hypnotic groove despite the broken rhythmic pattern—a track whose title alludes to the ability to create rhythm from simple sonic elements.
He found the missing pieces of the puzzle and fitted them perfectly.

O que acontece quando se resolve um mesmo puzzle quatro vezes, com ferramentas diferentes em cada tentativa?
M3STR oferece-nos a resposta nesta nova obra lançada pela editora espanhola Sungate. Se o objetivo era tocar-nos emocionalmente, conseguiu. Se era surpreender, deixou-nos impressionados.
Começamos com "Stillness", uma faixa com influências dub e aérea que oscila em meio-tempo, seguida pelo padrão sincopado de "Feathered", que se mantém suspenso. Em "A Love Faded" encontramos um impulso 4x4 direto, com clpas precisos e uma atmosfera de euforia. "Shakey Unit" encerra com um groove hipnotizante apesar do padrão rítmico quebrado—uma faixa cujo título alude à capacidade de criar ritmo a partir de elementos sonoros simples.
Ele encontrou as peças em falta do puzzle e encaixou-as perfeitamente.
