Pedronium is a discreet yet fundamental figure in the Portuguese scene. A long-time collaborator with Comandante, he dedicates himself to discovering records from the 1980s and transforming them through an impressive arsenal of machines and processing.
With COM003, he presents an experimental mini-album — six rhythmically dense constructions that shift between club aggression and macabre, introspective atmospheres. From '4D VISION 1987', a strange and sepulchral serenade, to the chaos of 'Nixe', the EP offers a journey that defies conventional categories.
Highlights include 'Churms', a relentless dancefloor banger, and 'Finesse [The Right People]', a rhythmic weapon that strikes with stunning impact. 'Naked / Afraid' and 'Snav' complete the experience with their grotesque charm and sonic portents.
All tracks were meticulously arranged and recorded live in a single take, reflecting a creative process spanning nearly two years. Pedronium employed an impressive variety of equipment — from the SP-404 and MPC1000 to the ARP 2600 and TR-606 — to create a unique sonic signature.
