It was suspected that with such a line-up, it would be likely that half of the artists would fail to appear, yet not only did they show up, they truly brought the party to life. There was even a second edition in 2002, featuring outstanding performances, but eventually interest in the venue and the format waned.

Sepypes’ interest in electronic music was certainly not unrelated to this event. He had already enjoyed music, but the CBT led him to consider other possibilities, other horizons. His passion steadily grew and was nurtured; faced with a fading techno scene in the Terras de Basto, he decided to take matters into his own hands.

In 2010, Trip Visions was born under his guidance. With each edition, it gained increasing prominence—first in Celorico de Basto, then across the Basto river basin region, and finally throughout the North. Having captivated the many electronic music enthusiasts in the area, the concept began to serve as a model for other successful experiences beyond Trás-os-Montes, and Sepypes became a driving force not only behind the format itself, but above all behind the straightforward, unpretentious techno he loves to spin. Good music that cleanses the soul and leaves us exhausted from so much dancing.

Meanwhile, his Trip Visions events are approaching their hundredth edition, and most of the major national names have already passed through. Yes, it is good to host renowned guests, but what is even better is knowing how to welcome them as Sepypes does. He lets the night unfold without restrictions or pressure, fully aware that music is a whole, and above all that he has educated his audience to be open to listening to and dancing to whatever comes their way, provided it has quality. That is Trip Visions’ greatest strength, and the reason it is so beloved within the scene: because Sepypes has known—and still knows—how to guide the night, the nights; because the choices made every three weeks are purposeful; because he selects the right music for the right moment; because he does what he does out of love for music, and that can be felt from afar. That is what makes him the foremost ambassador of electronic music in the Terras de Basto and beyond.

Desconfiou-se que com tal cartaz seria provável que metade dos artistas não aparecessem, mas não só apareceram, como fizeram a festa. Chegou a haver uma segunda edição em 2002, com grandes actuações, mas acabaria por desaparecer o interesse no local e no formato.

Não será alheio a este evento o interesse de Sepypes pela electrónica, ele já gostava de música, mas o CBT fê-lo pensar noutras possibilidades, noutras latitudes. Foi crescendo e alimentado a paixão, perante uma paisagem techneira moribunda nas terras de Basto, resolveu pôr mãos à obra.

Em 2010 nascem as Trip Visions pela sua mão, que a cada edição vão ganhando preponderância, primeiro por Celorico de Basto, depois na região da bacia do rio Basto, e finalmente por todo o Norte. Cativados os inúmeros apreciadores de música electrónica da zona, o conceito começou a servir de modelo para outras bem sucedidas experiências Trás-os Montes fora, e Sepypes tornar-se-ia um impulsionador, não só do formato, mas sobretudo do techno escorreito e despretensioso que gosta de rodar. Música boa que lava a alma e nos deixa exaustos de tanto abanar.

Entretanto as suas Trip Visions já vão perto da centena e a maioria dos grandes nomes nacionais já por lá passaram. Sim, é bom ter grandes convidados, mas o melhor é saber recebê-los como o Sepypes faz. Deixa a noite rolar sem restrições nem pressões, sabendo que a música é um todo, e sobretudo, que educou o seu público para ter abertura para ouvir e dançar o que quer que seja, desde que tenha qualidade. É esse o grande trunfo das Trip, e é por isso que são adoradas por todos no meio: porque o Sepypes soube e sabe dirigir a noite, as noites, porque as escolhas a cada três semanas são consequentes, porque o Sepypes escolhe a música certa para hora certa, porque faz o que faz por amor à música e isso sente-se à distância. É isso que faz com que seja o maior embaixador da música electrónica das Terras de Basto e mais além.
